Glucose just measures your blood sugar level right at that moment. It can fluctuate over time and throughout the day. The HgA1c test (stands for hemoglobin A1c) measures what your blood sugar levels have been like over the past 2-3 months, telling you if you run consistently high or consistently low. High means high blood sugar, or heading towards diabetes, and low means low blood sugar, or hypoglycemic. On my labs, the normal range is 4.6 - 6.2, but I'm not sure if it changes by age, etc.--------Jackie
