I'm not sure, and you should check me, but I think an abnormal result

on this test (low or high) would indicate your blood sugar was

consistently low, or consistently high, over a period of time vs

having both highs and lows.

You are correct . Glucose just measures your blood sugar level right

at that moment. It can fluctuate over time and throughout the day. The HgA1c

test (stands for hemoglobin A1c) measures what your blood sugar levels have been

like over the past 2-3 months, telling you if you run consistently high or

consistently low. High means high blood sugar, or heading towards diabetes, and

low means low blood sugar, or hypoglycemic. On my labs, the normal range is 4.6

- 6.2, but I'm not sure if it changes by age, etc.--------Jackie
