Try www.feelgoodnatural.com and search with " adrenal " . I put the link in the links section, supplement file, Canadian sources. > What about a compounding pharmacy? I also have chronic bladder > infection Try cranberry or mannose. You would have to look at AI or a herb encyclopedia for doses and frequency. I believe the book at www.endfatigue.com talks about how to use mannose for bladder infections. and whenever i cut or injure myself i always seem to get an > infection. Aloe also works good on cuts (put a piece of the leaf on the cut) and I have heard honey works as well. I guess this is also taxing the adrenals. the dr. said > 25mg cortef is what the body should make and is hesitant to up the > dosage. Check the diet recommendations in the adrenal section of AI - small frequent meals, protein at every mean and snack, no sugar or starchy foods, etc. The objective is to keep blood sugar levels constant - no peaks or troughs. There are lots of things to do for a leaky gut - read AI diet section, the diet file that Andy wrote in the files section, and we can talk about leaky gut another day. Guest guest
Hi Frances, I get Nutricology 250mg ACE from iherb.com, and I'm in Toronto. It's never been detained by customs in the 2 years that we've been using it. Customs will charge GST, brokerage fee and no duty. All glandulars are legal for import without prescription as long as they do not contain sex hormones. If you are taking enzymes with food, I would try taking ACE way from meals and see if theres a difference. I have found personally that untreated yeast significantly affects my adrenals so I can imagine that your infections are creating a greater demand for cortisol. Your doctor's idea of what is sufficient cortisol isn't confirmed by people on the NTHA list, who take anywhere between 0-60mg of HC/day. (i.e. everyone is different) At 25mg of HC, did your adrenal symptoms improve at all? If not, there could be something else going on. For example, I've seen people talk about " cortisol resistance " on NTHA when high doses are required to feel supported. Also, Val the moderator on NTHA takes insulin and understands blood sugar issues.
