Guest guest
Thanks Jenni for the reassurance. My family do have a tendency for big babies and seeing as we are all quite small to start with the baby has to go somewhere and the only way is out!! DD1 was 8lbs 15oz and DD2 was 7lbs 15oz (a blip I think as my family normally have good 9lb-ers). Francesca
Guest guest
Well, I'm coming into this late, as I'm just home from hols and struggling to catch up, but fwiw: DD1 was 8lb 8oz, DS was 9lb, DD2 was 7lb 4 oz but the biggest bump of the lot. I'm 5' 2 " and was about 9st when DS was conceived. I've been told (and can show physical evidence to anyone close enough to see!) that DS split my abdominal muscles, which have never re-knitted, so DD2 just bulged from the minute of conception onwards - basically if I lie flat on the ground and lift my head and shoulders in the beginnings of a sit-up, I can feel a split in my abdominal muscles at belly-button to pubic bone level - taught on either side and you can literally put your fist in my belly. Subsequent pregnancies have nothing to hold them in, and show as big because of it - regardless of the size of the child. There are exercises you can do to cure the probelm: but nothing I've found that can create the time to do the excercises with two small babies demanding your attention! So bulgy pregnancies for me from now until time isn't an issue!! Hope this helps... Vicki > Thanks Jenni for the reassurance.
