Have you ever tried tyrosine? (phenylalanine is a tyrosine precursor)

I experienced something similar taking tyrosine.. it was quite

stressful on my adrenals. I think my thyroid was stimulated by the

tyrosine. The clear head might be from thyroid stimulation or

increased dopamine.

Did you say you took it at night. If that wasn't a typo, then I hope

it wasn't your doctor who instructed you to do that (of course we all

make mistakes). Phenylalanine converts into tyrosine, dopamine,

norepinephrine (noradrenaline), and epinephrine (adrenaline). The

best time to increase catecholamine neurotransmitters

(norepinephrine/epinephrine/dopamine) is upon rising. Phenylalanine

transport into the brain is best when consumed empty stomach, so I

usually have my clients (and myself) keep it next to their bed with

some water, knock it back upon awakening, then wait a minimum of 30 min

before having breakfast. Good luck.

Blood or urine? Andy's assessment of the urine test is that it's not useful.

was low both times, while several of the other low amino acids

improved over the 6 months between the 2 tests. So, my doctor gave me

500mg phenylalanine. The first night I took it, I had trouble sleeping

Of course, it makes adrenaline!

myself,

You were sleep deprived.

Make sure he sends you the digital (pdf) version of the test, and make sure he

uses the DDI lab " Hair Essential Elements " (not " Toxic Elements " ). From this,

we could figure out if you need more adrenaline - though from the sound of

things, you don't.

Dave.
