Guest guest
I was told that the flue is made from a dead virus and that it cannot activate a virus in your body. All it does is great an antibody that will recognize the flue bug and destroy it before it has a chance to do damage. Therefore, it would be safe and proper to take a flue shot on chemo but should be times by the oncologist so the immune system is in its' best shape to great the antibody. If you needed a smallpox vaccination, on the other hand, they could not give it to you during your chemo because it is a live virus and the suppressed immune system would not be able to hold it at bay. I am not a doctor (although when I raced cars they called me the doctor). Len
