>Thanks - everything you say makes sense. In reply to your questions

about testing etc., I originally went to this new ND with self-

diagnosis of adrenal fatigue. Was diagnosed with fibro & CFS 15 yrs

prior. Had severe life crisis 7 yrs prior. She did saliva test & it

came back extremely low, so started HC at that point. I worked up to

15-20 mg, but fatigue was still very persistent. She added licorice,

with no consequence.

>Shortly after she did C & glutithione IV's which

made me extremely sick. Then she did heavy metal testing (challenge)

followed by very high dose of DMSA chelation, which practically killed

me -

Ahhh!

>the only good part is that it led me to this group.

>With still

not much relief from mentioned adrenal support, I started ACE on my

own (she approved) I felt that something was still missing

What has been missing is the proper use of chelation. It is likely that your

organs work fine, it's just that the signals to make the proper horomones are

not getting to those organs. Supplementing hormones can sometimes be very

helpful, but I have also seen people dickering around with hormones for

literally years and not getting anywhere, when what they really needed to do

was start chelation, even if at low dose.

>so I

started investigating thyroid stuff. My blood tests (TSH, T3/T4)were

normal but I exhibited all the hypo symptoms, so I persuaded her to

let me do a trial of Armour and now T3. She has done all the normal

blood work plus hormone profile, showing estrogen/progesterone very

low.

Did that help at all? I hope it did, but my comment about hormones applies

here too.

>I was under the assumption that hair testing wouldn't be

necessary or informative at this point, but will surely pursue if it

would be helpful.

At this point it is clear that you have mercury intoxication. Your reaction to

IV and challenge make that clear, your history of exposure makes that likely,

and your symptoms are consistent. Still, this would be a good idea to see what

else you might be dealing with (copper? arsenic? lead? ...) It will also

give you some idea if you have reached a point of excretion breakdown (the

body's systems are becoming unable to regulate themselves) or if you are still

getting rid of stuff. (I'd suspect the former, given the pervasiveness of

symptoms.) Finally, it can give you some supplement ideas that might help.

And of course, it's cheap. (DirectLabs.com " Hair Elements " _not_ " Toxic Hair

elements " , tell them you are from AM and you will get a discount.)

>Quite frankly I can't remember everything that was

tested & the results, but can get copies of those reports. As you

probably notice, I am doing more in diagnosing than my doctor but it

is the best I can do in my area & she is at least open-minded. Thanks

for all your help.

>As far as my chelation experience, I felt relatively steady for the

first approx 6 mos - meaning pretty much sick all the time but not

noticeably different on or off rounds.

You did notice chelation effects though? Did you the post-round 24 hours of

blah? Did you have any symptoms come on during round? If not, then you were

chelating at a very low level. That's fine, but that along with what appears

to be a severe case of poisoning, would have delayed the oncoming of the

interim " stall period " - and in addition, I don't know what effect the

IVs/challenges/high dose chelation would have had on the usual course of this

process.

>Then I started seeing improvement in my brain function followed by some

improvement in energy which lasted for a couple months.

Ok, I bet that's your couple of months of " feeling better " which usually comes

right at the start of chelation. I'm curious, how long was that " couple of

months " ?

Just so you know, my experience of that couple of months, was that while I had

more energy, it was the same kind of manic energy that I used to have back

before I had chronic fatigue, often experienced as a kind of crazy-making

mixture of energy and exhaustion. In other words, it was a mercury-intoxicated

energy that was coming back to me. Throughout my life, I had been conscious

enough of having too much out of control energy, that this " feeling better " did

not feel good to me. So, when the stall period came on, when I became just

pain dead exhausted, it actually felt like I was experiencing more of what was

truly going on with my body - and you may know that when people die of acute

mercury exposure, their ultimate death comes from exhaustion.

>Then the decline back to square one like I mentioned.

Ya, I think that's it - as much as one can be confident about these things, at

least.

>What are the 2 patterns for adrenal exhaustion?

Too much adrenaline & too little cortesol, or too little adrenaline.

>Joy

Dave.
