i'm really sorry to hear about the drop

in your dlco. (i never really understood

that til earlier this year.... i didnt

really try tbh). 5% drop is a lot and i see the

pattern developing although one half of 08

seemed to hold its own.

12 does sounds very low. i hope you arent

stretching yourself too much. its a hard balance,

keeping fit without pushing our lungs too much.

a power chair sounds great. take care of you.

,

I sorry to hear about that big of a drop in your DLCO...that is discouraging. Pneumonia is a frightening prospect for all of us for just this reason. You will continue in my thoughts and prayers, keep looking after yourself and use that power chair whenever you need it!

I got my results from my PFT. Some numbers are about the same some are downright rotten.

My FVC in July 0f 07 was 42%, Jan of 08 was 43%, Jul of 08 was 43%, Jan of 09 was 46%, and Jul of 09 it was 42% . I guess you would call that stable.

My TLC in July 0f 07 was 51%, Jan of 08 was 67%, Jul of 08 was 42%, Jan of 09 was 71%, and Jul of 09 it was 48% . I feel like the 67% and the 71% were just a flukes. LOL

My DLCO in July 0f 07 was 31%, Jan of 08 was 27%, Jul of 08 was 27%, Jan of 09 was 22%, and Jul of 09 it was 17% . There is a 5% drop from Jul of 08 to Jan of 09 and another 5% drop from Jan of 09 to this July. Sure are not good numbers. If it drops another 5% till Jan of 2010 it would be down to 12%.

I don’t know if you can live at 12%. I am not getting around well at all. I have extra stools all over the house to plop in as I am so SOB. I have not recovered well from my 5 days in the Big House with Pneumonia and Salmonella (Jul 18 to 22). Have to use my power chair when I get out. I haven’t used it in the house as of now. I know that will be problem with my 50 foot hose. P PM (Polymositis) 12/98, UIP 8/00, o2 24/7 10 LPM 8/04, PH 3/06, ILL yo 61REMEMBER : All of you on Prednisone'stressed' spelled backwards is

'desserts'
