Guest guest
Oh yes. Brio (and own brand equiv) was worth every penny. DS plays with it every single day and on nursery days he has 5 mins in morning while I'm sorting breakfast and a good half hour when we get in a 6pm before getting ready for bed. TTTE trains are expensive, but also worth it. He always plays with these engines, never the unbranded ones (although the unbranded carriages and trucks are fine). He already has another 4 on his Christmas list. In the meantime, he " pretends " one engine he has is another he hasn't got, eg isn't atm, he's and Duck is currently Henry. Most confusing. Even more so tonight, when he announced that Duck was Duck again (phew) but that Gordon was Henry - oh no, and its not even the same colour to serve as a reminder to get the wrong names right (iyswim). As for the black diesel, the new ELC chart of TTTE trains does have " The Diesel " but it doesn't look anything like the " Diesel " on the Brio sheet I also have (just comparing the 2 pictures as I type). The ELC is longer, 4 sets of wheels (rather than 3) and dark green rather than black. ELC also have " Diesel 10 " which is a light sage green type colour with a digger/crane on top (not come across that one yet on our videos). So black diesel does seems to be extinct, per my ELC sheet. I don't know if it's any help but ELC do an own brand black diesel engine, but obviously no face. It seems perfectly acceptable here, but perhaps not if your DS is specifically after the TTTE one. Guest guest
I'm still frustrated, ELC no longer has it (The Diesel and Diesel 10 are no good) and Osbournes that Georgina suggested does not have it either, though they have several other in stock. It has to be Black Diesel with a TTTE face according to DS and not he *new* ELC equivalent. However I'm playing it cool and not letting him know that I am investigating otherwise things could get unbearable around here. phine (Mum to 4 & Ben nearly 3, Cambridge NCT) So black diesel does seems to be extinct, per my ELC sheet.
