Guest guest Posted July 18, 2008 Report Share Posted July 18, 2008 Is it OK to do ALA ONLY chelation instead of DMSA/ALA? It seems that the DMSA causes the big problems like neutrophils going down and yeast going up. I've battled yeast for awhile and am worried about it getting worse. I watch what I eat with a few " slip ups " and take Anti-Yeast supps. I've also noticed that after a round of chelation sometimes it feels like I'm coming down with something like a virus. I tend to cough a lot (with and without gunk) a few days after round and wondered if the DMSA was causing this by lowering the neuutrophils. I do " crash " the second day after round and need a nap, but fine after that. Also, swollen lymphs on neck more so after round. FYI: I'm 7 months amalgam free and on round 13 with DMSA 25 mg and ALA 17mg. 3 days on 4 off with one break of 38 days which I felt really good. (with adrenal support. Feel good on round except last few rounds with weird dreams. SIDE EFFECTS: Anyone else have weird dreams and trouble sleeping on round?? DMSA or ALA? Jaw and teeth pain?? Most side-effects with ALA seem after a round, presumably because it is pulling metals out from inside the organs. DMSA can aggravate yeast which will cause its own toxic effects, but you should not fear DMSA, rather try it and see how you do.
