Thank you Jackie for your thorough answers. I decided to stop the

round after that first dose, and try again next weekend. I did join

the A-M board as well. Yes, my son is non-verbal and the spinning was

an odd behavior that had seemed to dissapear over a year ago. After

just 5 mg DMSA he was spinning and could not stop.

Coincidence ? I just dont know.....So hard to tell. Thanks for your

input though.

starting dose? DMSA only?

to start somewhere between 1/8 to 1/2 mg per lb of body weight, and

then adjust up or down based on symptoms/tolerance.

follow Andy's protocol, and it is parents chelating kids, so they may

be more helpful to you about dosing children and their experiences.

, who initially answered your post, is a veteran form A-M, and

is a member of our group also (and we're glad to have her!).---------

Different people react differently to the chelators and dosages, so

starting low is a smart thing to do. We can only give you

guidelines, and you will have to judge by his reactions whether to

adjust the dosage up or down. It will take a little experimenting in

the beginning to figure out the best dosage for him.----------Jackie

afraid of not being able to monitor the first few doses and chickened

out.

not done in a long time.

behavior that had gone away, and this was a bad thing? See, this is

where us adults are not as familiar with the kids' symptoms, and the

parents on A-M would probably understand better. And is your child

verbal? I think that makes a big difference, whether they can tell

you what's going on or not. And I certainly understand you being

scared and stopping the round. Best to feel more comfortable with

what your doing before proceeding.-------Jackie

opinions on this, but probably the safest thing to do would be to

wait till next weekend. And it would be a rather short round, if you

started now.---------Jackie

how many doses were taken. And I would be especially careful with

young children.--------Jackie

I would wait until next weekend.----------Jackie
