15 days is too long. At Vanderbilt I normally get same day results and if

not the next day, The one time we did not get next day results ONC apologized

and said he was going to get radiology straight- actually did get a call late

that same night with results. I am ok until several days before a test then

worry worry worry until the results come in. I could not stand several days

let alone 15.

Where was this scan taken? I am shocked. My scans were read the same day

and written reports were sent to my oncologist the following day. Who

referred you to this facility for the scans? Was it your oncologist? If so,

he/she

should not be referring to a facility that cannot keep up with its workload.

playing havoc with sciatic , and the doc wondered if they had tested blood for

liver problems?????? anyone heard of this??

He put Joe on steroids for 5 days and no work til monday.

33yrold husband Joe, was diagnosed with CC in Sept,

resection on Sept 27th 2004

found mets to the abdominal wall lining 3 lymph nodes involved

open wound from infection until Jan 2005

Ileostomy reversal Dec 7th 2004

Chemo regiment begun Jan 2005

5fu/levorican/Oxaplatin/ Avastin added Feb 14 2005 (Happy Valentines

Calcium Magnesium added for the Tingles Feb 28 2005

Ct Scan done March 23rd 2005 , 16 millimeter cyst like object on liver found

April 1 2005 PET scan done awaiting results

April 11 PET SCAN SHOWS

NED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

May 9 Plateletts are low 75,000

My husband has had 2 Ct's and a Pet scan. The 1st one was ordered by the

surgeon pre-surgery. He had it done after lunch, and the Dr. called us that

same day with the results.

On the Pet and 2nd CT, the onc. scheduled an appointment for the next day to

discuss it. The scan center has them to the Dr. the same day. As well I am

given a CD of it when he has it done. Not that I could read it. I only have

his last CT as I did not know to ask for a copy when he had his Pet scan. It

was interesting looking at the CT and trying to identify things. It was really

interesting to take the diagnosis and find the things he had noted. Didn't do to

good on it. Thankfully, we have never had to wait too long for the results.

I agree, find another facility. My husband's onc. does have us drive to a

facility about 1hour from our home because that was the closest Pet scan when he

had his 1st one. The hospital in the local town has since gotten one, but the

onc. says he prefers to get them at the same place each time.

I will say that the 2 reports done at the distant facility seem much, much more

thorough than the CT he had done at the local hospital pre-surgery.
