As long as I can be an inspiration to just one, I am grateful for that. I am

also glad to know I am not the only one with the bathroom problems:) Yes, I

had a colon resection, liver resection where they removed over half of my

liver. I had two tumors one being 2cm the other a little over 4 cm. I then had

2

small residual lesions post the surgery but the chemo zapped them after about

8 mos. and ever since NED!! I am not sure where u are with treatment but if u

ever need an extra " ear " or an inspirational story of how I (ok not me but

God) took care of this for me I'm here.

P.S. truth be known, when I was first diagnosed (after the first few exams) I

really wanted to reach back in the hat and draw out say mmmmmmm......breast

cancer, I thought it would have been a little nicer to have my breast fondled

for a while and my butt left ALONE!!

Let me know if I can be of any help to you, and where are u w/ treatment?

what r u on? what surgeries have u had? etc...

Sincerely,

Averi

Hi Averi:

Here is my history in a nutshell (most on this board already know).

Diagnosed May 1, 2005

with colon cancer with met to the liver.

Surgery: May 18, 2005 -told that all known tumors were removed. Surgery

involved

colon resection, one third of my liver removed (one tumor 3.9 cm), removed

appendix (with small malignancy), removed non-malignant but abnormal gall

bladder. I believe 3 of the lymphs were also (no surprise) malignant.

Complications of a liver abscess which became known day 7 after surgery and

with Ascites in the abdomen.

Spent one month in hospital with many days in the cath lab being drained of

Ascites and draining the lungs (one collapsed) and liver abscess.

Went home to bed rest with liver catheter which remained an additional 5

weeks. Daily visits from home nurse.

Chemo postponed to allow liver abscess to resolve.

Began chemo in early August:

Chemo is Folfox (oxaliplatin/leucovorin, 5FU + Avastin) every other week.

Day one is the infusion of oxaliplatin/leucovorin and Avastin then sent home

with a 48 hour pump of 5FU.

Chemo was too toxic (one emergency room visit and had to postpone treatment)

so chemo was first reduced by 20% and subsequently the 5FU bolus was pulled.

Scanned October 10th with conclusion that there is inflammation or other

abnormalities in the liver but cannot conclude if it is residual/recurrent tumor

or post-inflammatory or post-surgical inflammation. Thus, no NED, but also

no known recurrent disease.

Begin Chemo No. 6 on Tuesday Oct. 18.

Is this the same chemo you had?
