All I can say is enjoy what time you have left with him, tell him things you have been meaning to tell him , but never got around to it , sit down and right a letter if you have to then read it from the letter. (through the tears I am sure As the time gets closer, you can file for family leave act with your company ( or now if you can afford it ) they dont pay you , but will have to hold your job for you. Do you have any vacation / sick days coming? If so use them. God Donelle, this disease is soooooooooo freaking unfair!!!!!!!!!!! I wish I was there with you hun , please know that you and Glenn have a special place in my heart and always will Love to you both Deb Hi Deb and Joe... I have only a few vacation days, as I've used them to take Glenn to hospitals, drs., etc. but I did talk with bosses Thursday, who were very compassionate and seemed to be more than willing to work with me. I've been there 26 yrs. and very close to retirement... and don't feel I'm in any danger of losing my job...(that would actually be in my best interests...LOL) I'm the Office Manager and Legal Assistant, with 2 young ladies under me. And the 2 " new " young attorneys don't want to work either. However with a little role reversals, I will try to go to 3 days a week immediately, taking some typing/phone calls home with me. I only work 4 days a week now. I can get more done in 3 days than the other 2 put together in 5, and the bosses know that. I'm assuming they will continue to pay me if I work from home. I'll do this for a few weeks and see how its going. Hospice has male volunteers that will come out and visit Glenn...play cards or just be with him for a while. That will be a huge help for me and for Glenn. They can get someone who will fix a sandwich or soup for him at lunch. The Nurse will come 3 times a week....and the social worker comes weekly for both of us. Told my bosses I need to be with Glenn as time gets closer and I'm not sure how I will handle that financially at all...but praying God will provide (maybe through my scrapbooking business) They did say I could borrow on my vacation days for next year....you can bet I won't get anything for free!!! I CAN DO THIS!!! I'm not sure how, but I CAN!!! I don't have anything to fall back on, b/c I've helped my son win his child custody battle over the last year to the tune of $12,000 for lawyer fees (not my bosses) and just helping to keep his house and children safe from the Cocaine MonsterMommy!! I won't get Glenn's life insurance, b/c he has an estranged, disabled, doesn't-wanna-work-but-can-surely-shop wife in Virginia. I'm all on my own...but I CAN DO THIS for my sweetie and for me!!! Lots of hugs and prayers, Donelle Caregiver to Glenn
