Viv, go for it. I found life is at it's most confusing just after

you've had your first baby! I think the best way to describe it was

sudddenly having a new hobby - and wanting to talk about it all the

time, needing reassurance and detail about every aspect. NCT is a

brilliant place to start because the people you are likley to meet are

in exactly the same boat. Hope you have a good time.

Have a good time at your first NCT meeting, and remember, everyone has

had to go for a first time! :-)))

I am a computer programmer too - I took max maternity leave after

DD1(now 10), & went back part time, & am still working there.

My advice as far as working is - don`t worry about it until you have to

actually take some action! I 'wasted' all my first mat leave worrying

about it - and in the end it was fine. Even if I had decided being a

working mum was was not for me - I had still wasted that time, IYSWIM !
