Poor DH

DH, you may recall, works away from home in the week. He stays in a

B & B somewhere down by Hannah H midweek.

Tonight he went swimming and on the way home, doing about 70mph in the

inside lane of a dual carriageway, some twit in the outside lane

drifted in and drove along the side of him scraping his driver's door.

The other bloke wasn't going to stop until DH kept flashing his lights

(lucky the main beams worked because the dipped headlights went out in

the collision). The other driver didn't even know he had hit DH -

just kept saying what a bad day it had been.

DH is a bit shaken up, but thankfully not hurt and at least the car is

driveable, as the lights did come back on OK. Poor thing just feels a

bit lonely away from home and miserable :(

He was planning to get home around 3pm on Friday (rather than 8pm) as

we go on holiday Saturday morning. Now looks like he'll be taking the

car to the garage rather than packing. Thankfully I drive our family

estate car and DH a Micra, so at least we haven't got to sort out

alternative transport for the holiday (wouldn't cherish the thought of

getting holiday packing into the boot of a small courtesy car).
