Guest guest
I don't possess a pair of lace up shoes-think I will skip that bit to. Kate Flylady <<said: How did she know I had taken off my shoes!!>> -------------------- Yes, I've joined too! And, like Angi, have done nothing yet!! However, this dressing up thing I disagree with - so should I continue? I really hate wearing shoes in the house (I love my comfy slippers) and lace-up shoes - no thanks. So I think I'll just adapt that part! Besides my slippers are mocassins so they're more shoe looking than slipper looking. Hope to start soon, although shining my sink will take forever - it's always full of dirty plates and pans. Have to get DH involved too! Happy shining everybody! Guest guest
Yes I get the impression 'flylady' has no littlies at home-I could be mistaken though. I had flash of inspiration last night-if I get up with DH at 6.30 am I could have most of housework done by time kids surface at 8.00 and have rest of day to play.Might give it a go next week.Need lie ins over weekend. Do any of you know how to clean this sort of sink - it's not a smooth surface, dark grey and not a solid colour but close inspection did suggest it could look a tad smarter. Perhaps it wouldn't have the psychological effect she's looking for anyway) I recognised Can'tHaveAnybodyOverSyndrome - but the thing is that I have learned to overcome that feeling - only this afternoon after a stroll in the woods with a friend and our children, I invited her back knowing perfectly well that the kitchen was a disaster zone and the sitting room was liberally strewn in banana skins, paper, spouted cups of unknown vintage contents and dried mud - when she has a crawling baby. And when we arrived, there was cat sick to add to this. I thought we weren't supposed to do loads to start with to avoid burn out (since this reminds me *very* much of those graded activity regimes for people with ME/CFS (on the assumption that we're suffering from a disorder of maladaptive cognitions, boom and bust energy economy, hmph, hmph) this means you Caro Heyworth and your window cleaning!!! :-)) and that we weren't supposed to take too much notice of the reminders at this stage (delete them, I think she said!) Today (I took a break half way through writing this and now it is tomorrow...), in lieu of sink I fiddled about with bedroom - DH was most impressed. Nowhere near finished - but there are multiple hotspots instead of one wall to wall nightmare (we used to be a foot deep all over the floor till we put padlocks on linen chests etc and a padlock was left off a few days ago) -- jennifer@... Sorry I asked my 'Mr Kitchen' and he said he'd have to know exactly what composite it was - duh how can cleaning a sink be so complicated? - but he said best to phone the manufacturer and ask them!! Guest guest
FWIW, I've found FLYlady quite useful, too! I've lost all motivation re housework but she breaks it down into bite sized chunks that I can deal with. I don't feel so bad now about just doing a 15 minute job, rather than cleaning an entire room at one shot. My family are determined to battle me on the Hot Spots, though. I cleared the worst one at least three times yesterday and now the DK's have chosen somewhere else as a hotspot!! So maybe it's just transferring the problem, rather than removing it, LOL! Guest guest
I've a white sink but also a carbon steel kitchen knife. Rust stains don't come off whatever you do.... do they? (hopefully...) Anneliese and Toddler Tim who has been hard work the last 2 evenings and I don't know if I can cope any longer. Re: Puppies & Flylady I've a white sink, too. It stains but the stains come off with a little bleach wiped round with a piece of kitchen paper and left to stand for 30 mins before rinsing. Guest guest
{{{{{{{{{{Georga}}}}}}}}}} First of all, I have no clue who Flylady is but, from what you guys have all been saying, I am absolutely positive she does not live in the reality of our world and does not have to deal with what we live with 24/7. I'm so sorry you've been having an awful day and although there are no magic words I can say to make it better, please know I'm glad you were able to tell us about it and I'm praying hard that the rest of your day gets much better. Guest guest
www.flylady.net There you go. Enjoy. Laugh hysterically. My house is cleaner, but it still isn't where it should be. My goal is to get it clean enough that I can rent a carpet shampooer and have a mostly clean carpet. I am not asking for miracles here, just some semblace of sanitary. I assembled two bookcases today for the kids. Lets see if it helps. Chris gets to do the other one since it is his. He brought home four of them from work that they were going to toss out. Sad thing is, I still have book stacked to the ceiling in the closet in the other room. Guest guest
Flylady would die of a heartattack just walking into my house. LOL! The said thing is, it is always like this here. Today it has just gotten to me to the point that I am ready to loose it and take out everyone in the house. Doesn't help my stress level that I am stressed about Chris's pay on Wednesday. We have no idea if he is getting paid what he is supposed to and if we are going to have enough money to pay the rent and buy groceries. Sigh. Guest guest
>>Well, Flylady is the reason that my house functions at all and that I actually feel some small degree of control over my life<< Wow well maybe I should have read some of those emails after all. I got so overwhelmed trying to read them, that I gave up. I am not by nature a neat person so I really could use some help. Well, Flylady is the reason that my house functions at all and that I actually feel some small degree of control over my life. Just as she says, if I can't do her job, I delete it and I don't worry one minute about it. But things work around here; meals are planned and prepared, the laundry is done and generally put away, and I haven't bounced a check in ONE YEAR because I actually know how much money I have. I am sure she is not for everyone; I haven't met anything that was for everyone, but she has been great for me. Salli

Guest guest
The flylady has no clue of what life is like. She and Martha can kiss my cluttered unorganized ass. I am so sorry you day is going badly..if I was there I would grab you and head to the nearest bar and we would then proced to get so drunk and rowdy they would stick us in jail where we could rest and relax for a few days.
