confused about cortef..

I took 5mg cortef for the first time this morning. Now 3 hours later

I'm more exhausted and spacey than usual. Very generally, does this

mean I don't need it or does this mean I should try more? I checked

through a lot of the posts but was a still confused..

I haven't got my Diagnostechs' ASI test back and so I'm just trying

things hit and miss because I know my adrenals are pretty messed up.

I also have some thorne ACE and will try 25mg of it as well.. I assume

with the ACE that it needs to build up over time?

btw I just started round 10 this morning too. It's my 3rd round at this

dose -- 12.5mg dmsa and 6mg ala. I feel best the first couple days of

each round and am pretty crashed about 24 hours after completing the

rounds. I do every 3 hours around the clock, 3 1/2 days on and 3 1/2

days off. I'm not entirely sure the ala is right for me yet but am

continuing to experiment..

----------It could mean that it wore off and your body wants more. Did you

feel good or ok after you took it? If you didn't need it, I think it would make

you feel icky right away.

Another thought, it might have something to do with the interaction of adrenal

and thyroid hormones. You need cortisol for the T3 to get into your cells. So

you may have used up some of the T3 that was floating around in your blood, and

now that is low, causing the symptoms? I'm not an expert on this, but I know

there is an interaction between these hormones, and one affects the

----------There seems to be a huge variation as to what people tolerate with

this, and how much they can take or how they ramp up. Sunshine has posted

recently about how he slowly ramped up, and it worked really well for him.

------------One suggestion would be to quit the ALA before the DMSA. Many

people do this. They stop taking ALA a few doses before the end of the round,

and just finish up with DMSA only, and it is supposed to lessen their end of

round side effects. Worth a try.-----------Jackie

A couple of questions:

Robin, you said you're taking 25mg of ACE. Are you splitting the 50mg

capsules?

Also, when you start ACE, are you supposed to take it throughout the day? I

know it was suggested I take it in the morning since that's where my test showed

I need it most, though I was relatively low the rest of the day too. Thanks for

any info on that
