Guest guest
Hi, while I'm waiting for a copy of my hair analysis to arrive so I can post, I was wondering if someone could shed some light on high copper for me. Why do so many people with mercury toxicity have high copper? Mine was extremely high - 190 along with high zinc. Does the high copper assumedly destroy the liver as it does with 's disease? Should you take as much Vitamin C as you can tolerate (before loose stools) in order to chelate. How long do people generally have to chelate for before seeing a noticeable reduction. I am having severe liver problems and have not had a drink or had anything toxic in 7 or 8 years. As of right now my liver numbers are 'normal' which I know doesn't necessarily mean anything but I am getting almost no bile - I have done 13 liver cleanses in the past releasing a great many stones but I'm concerned with little bile flow about doing chelation. Does not the liver use the bile to expel toxins? If I have little to no bile flow (I am currently taking bile supplements to digest my food), can I still chelate with DMPS or the like? Obviously I believe mercury and other metals to be at the root of my problem but would like to tackle to copper issue first and foremost and clean my kidneys before beginning chelation. I will post my results when they arrive and hopefully learn a great deal from Andy's books. Thanks for your help,

Why do so many people with > mercury toxicity have high copper? The most likely explanation is that mercury poisons the liver and interferes with the ability to excrete copper, which then causes further problems and complicates things. Mine was extremely high - 190 along with high zinc. > Does the high copper assumedly destroy the liver as it does with 's disease? High copper is toxic. With copper levels that high I would ask Andy whether chelation (for mercury) should be restricted. Should > you take as much Vitamin C as you can tolerate (before loose stools) in order to chelate. Yes. Vitamin C is a good antioxidant, and is a relatively cheap supplement. Other antioxidants should be supplemented as well. > How long do people generally have to chelate for before seeing a noticeable reduction. > I'm not sure if you are meaning mercury or copper with this question. The length of time that people chelate for mercury poisoning is very variable and dependent on their circumstance. An average would be 2 years to get well. Many chelate longer than that. Copper can be reduced with supplementation and by avoiding high copper foods. See p 256 of Andy's " Hair Test Interpretation " book. Eventually chelation for mercury could correct the problem that is causing copper to accumulate (if that is what the underlying problem is). > I am having severe liver problems and have not had a drink or had anything toxic in 7 or 8 > years. As of right now my liver numbers are 'normal' which I know doesn't necessarily > mean anything but I am getting almost no bile - I have done 13 liver cleanses in the past > releasing a great many stones Please stop doing the liver cleanses. They are stressful on your liver and on your body. Review your diet and supplements and include the things that your liver needs to function and heal. " Amalgam Illness " is a good book to refer to. B vitamins, omega 3 oils in sufficient quantity, sufficient quantities of Mg, Zn and other minerals, and other nutrients as indicated in AI. Eat salads and vegetables everyday with fresh lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil as dressing. but I'm concerned with little bile flow about doing chelation. > Does not the liver use the bile to expel toxins? Bile is essential to function. If I have little to no bile flow (I am currently > taking bile supplements to digest my food), can I still chelate with DMPS or the like? Yes, seeing as you are taking bile supplements. You need to ensure that you are taking supplements to aid in digestion and to support your liver. Because of how high your copper is you need to restrict ALA chelation somewhat. See HTI, p 256. > Obviously I believe mercury and other metals to be at the root of my problem What is the basis that you used to come to the conclusion that metals are the root of the problems? hair test? symptoms? other? but would > like to tackle to copper issue first and foremost and clean my kidneys before beginning > chelation. > See HTI for the supplements needed to address the copper issue. See AI for supplements to support your liver. Prepare to chelate because chelation is a long slow process. It is likely that the metals are interfering with your liver function. > I will post my results when they arrive and hopefully learn a great deal from Andy's books. > I assume that you mean hair test results. Yes, Andy's books are very helpful. > Thanks for your help, > > >
