Oh, I should point out that the symptoms I'm talking about occur

in the 1-2 hours right after taking an antifungal. If that's not

what she's getting from probiotics, then I'm not sure this would help.

taking the probiotic. What brand of psyllium do you use?

I use Konsyl brand (sold in drugstores or online). I didn't feel

that Yerba Prima was " clean " (smells and tastes weird) and NOW foods

" Whole Psyllium Husks " required a much larger dose to get the same

grams of fiber. I think those are the only ones I've tried.

IF I may interject

Whole foods makes an organic " Smooth Move Brand " psyllium that i have

found to work very well. It does say its Psyllium Whole Husks

though....I think the Yerba Prima has rancidity issues if this is the

brand I am thinking of.

Thanks, . I've seen this and glad to be reminded of it as

it is organic. I will take a look at the label next time I'm in

Whole Foods and maybe will give it a try.

Have you ever used the capsules? And are you at all concerned about

developing a dependency on this product?

I haven't used the capsules, I mix the powder into water. But I've

bought capsules for my husband and he finds them more convenient.

I'm not concerned about dependency on a bulk laxative. It is simply

a food fiber and not even a large quantity of fiber. It is the

stimulant laxatives (herbal or drug) that can lead to dependency.

I actually dropped the psyllium for quite a few months this past

year (because I didn't require it anymore after I started taking

enough bile support) and I had no problems of " withdrawal " or the

like. Well, maybe that was because of the bile support, hard to

say. I've only added it back recently because I am having die-off

problems.

> I have read somethings on a site called Fiber Menace that reports

that fiber is not good for the digestion in some way that I fail to

understand.

Well, I took a look at that site. It didn't seem to have much real

information content that I could see.

Before I started taking fiber many years ago (at least 8 years),

I did look into it a little and decided it was perfectly fine.

There would likely be more research available now and I have not

looked at it. My experience with taking psyllium has certainly

been positive.
