Guest guest
> ---------You have been given a link in another post, and I will mention again that there are links in the Links section of the group. And my understanding is that the small fish like sardines are supposed to be lower in mercury, and that wild Alaskan salmon is much better than the farm raised stuff.--------Jackie ******Thanks guys for your responses re this. I'm aware there are links in the link section, I've been there many times. Sorry I didn't check it this time for the levels of hg in the fish! But my question was not so much about the fish itself (I am aware that salmon and sardines are supposed to be amongst the lowest in mercury), what I was really asking was, how significant is it (even low fish mercury) for an already toxic person? One who is sensitive and tends to retain toxins. I should have made my post clearer. That's what I wanted to know and I figured this group would be the best place to ask. Jackie has pretty much answered this here: > > ---------I think anytime you suspect a mercury exposure, extra Vit C is always a good idea.-------------Jackie > > -------------I have also thought that I felt worse after eating fish sometimes, so honestly, I hardly ever eat it at all anymore (much to my husband's dismay!). So this will have to be a personal decision on your part. If you test it again, only eat a small amount, and see what happens.----------Jackie *****thanks Jackie, I think this is going to be a case of experimentation if I decide to try it again (which I'm dubious about, but I love salmon and feel that it's healthy in so many ways when the entire thing is eaten, rather than just taking fish oil caps). Obviously there is no " one " answer on even the low mercury fish and it's a obviously a case of personal tolerance. I still do not feel ok, it's possible the coffee is responsible for this though. I hear it can wipe out good bacteria, so might be why. If I try the salmon again, I'll be doing it only when I'm feeling much more stable and having no coffee or any other cheat on my diet. I just find it odd that the reaction is still going after so many days...which is why I suspected the salmon...perhaps even few contaminants is too much for someone like me at this point.. Cheers :-) >

I don't react to what Andy has listed as low mercury fish (I'm adding this as another illustration of differences in people. My friend and I have eaten the same thing in the same restaurant and she reacts and I don't. She finally decided not to try any seafood at all anymore).
