Oh Lonnie, you wouldn't believe some of the meal time concoctions that my

children have to eat, simply because on a day to day basis I forget that

meals need to be thought of and prepared at least 15 minutes before my 3 year

old starts moaning that he's hungry...

(Please see earlier posting on how my deluded MIL thinks I'm organised and

generally all round wonderful)

And I don't have pregnancy to blame, just general absent mindedness!

I was making the girl's dinner (fishcakes) and was really pleased with myself

because I had got the oven on in good time and got them put in so they could

have dinner at a normal (ish lol) time and then took them out on time and left

them to cool for a while..

then after set amount of time I went into put them onto plates and realised that

I had NOT DONE ANYTHING TO GO WITH THEM!!!!.. all I had was these Salmon

fishcakes.. (normally I will do like rice and peas or a couple of veggies or if

I am feeling lazy apples toast and raisins)... I just stood there starring at

these fishcakes. (oh no un frozen bread so toast not quick to do either lol)..

so I opened the fridge door to find something to go and cut up some cheese ...

then found the left over of yesterday's pasta salad (with spinach and pinenuts)

and gave them this to go. Both of the girls gobbled it down but I still now 30

mins later can't believe that I just did not think about the fact they would

need something more than just a plan fishcake MUST be pregnancy hormones.. (that

is my excuse and I am sticking to it lol)Lonnie Phoebe & Eloisa's mama

& expecting a Christmas delivery...

My therapist told me the way to achieve true inner peace is to finish what you

start.

So far today, I have finished 2 bags of chips and a Chocolate cake.

I feel better already.

I don't really understand the big deal of this Lonnie. Why on earth do

you feel so guilty? :-))

Fishcake, whether bought or home made, forms the main part of a meal.

You could always have cut up some cucumbers and lettuce or opened a

can of beans without feeling you have failed as a mother somehow!

When I had a lot of young kids at home I made life as easy for myself

as I could. They were delighted to have baked beans and a picked

cucumber with a couple of kosher vienna sausages for supper.

I always made sure I had fresh salad somewhere in the meal, but not

all of them would eat it. Yesterday Tzvi and Yoel thought they'd died

and gone to heaven cos I made them veggie schnitzel with baked beans

for lunch. Oh and a pickled cucumber :)

So Reeeelax! You are NOT a bad mother!!

I don't feel guilty I just can't believe that I did not think about making

anything else

(also had I made baked beans they would not have been eaten neither of mine

likes ..) them ;o) ) Cucumber had been demolished for lunch and lettuce is not

something I have around a lot lol no it was a miracle that I actually had the

pasta salad.. generally our fridge stocks what is due to be cooked that day and

a load of yoghurt, coke salad dressings and chocolate not much else ;o)..

I am *always* doing things like that, either just for

Calvin or even for all three of us. We’ll have a main

course and then I’ll be scrambling around for apples or

something to be salad/veg/dessert.

And I’m not even pregnant, so can’t blame it on that :)
