Hi ,

I did Dr. Perricone's anti inflamation diet for about 5 months and the diference was amazing . I lost 15 pounds the first month and felt great. Since then I do a modified version ( no bread, coffee, fried foods, starches sugar) and have been losing only 1-2 pounds a month ( I still have 20 to go). On the antiinflammation diet I have more energy, no swelling from the prednisone, my blood pressure is lower and I have no chest or joint pain. As soon as I go off of it, all of the above comes back. I have to confess I have the hardest time giving up sweets and they seem tio make the biggest difference. I got the book used on Amazon and I also do his stretching exercises in it. They are very easy and low impact and only take 10-15 minutes each morning. Good luck! R. (53) Sarcoid/PF 3/2006 Carlsbad, California

Hey guys, I just read through many of the previous posts in regard toanti-inflammation diets. The nutritionist I saw today talked about certain foodslike those "white carbs" as no'no's. Of course salty things should be avoided! And portion control is important.Did you know that regular cereals have so much salt? Some yogurts do too! She is going to get me info for me about specificplans to guide me while the docs try to figure out why I am still getting edema! Yep...it's back.Has anyone here been really successful with any plan that is called "anti-inflammatory" . ? I'd like some fee d-back if possible.

I've been doing an anti-inflammatory diet now for about 3 months. It's been tweaked for me by a nutritionist at Duke but it's most similar to Weil's recommendations. Here's a link to his info. This is basically the plan I'm following (not perfectly but probably about 85%).

, Thanks for the info..I'll

look into getting the book.

The nutritionist was concerned about all the meds I take and wants to

be ceertainh

that what she finally decides to endorse for me is OK with the docs.

Did you know that cheeses in general are really high in salt?

Also...plain ordinary boxed breakfast cereals are really bad!!!!

Beth, Thanks for the link to

Dr. Weil's plan.

Some of it makes sense but some is really weird...

The mushrooms,  the Soy...not going to happen for me!

Have a great week-end..I hope yours is going to be drier

than ours....with an apology to Sher...the weather here is more like

the

stuff in the Pacific North West lately...sun...what's sun?
