Only concern I have come across because of my previous PPH was related to me having a home-birth and planning a physiological 3rd stage rather than about the actual water-birth. I can't see any reason why having haemorrhaged before would contraindicate having a water-birth! It may be that your MW is worried about the 3rd stage rather than the birth in water? Would you like me to post the question to the Homebirth and Midwifery lists to try and find out more for you? Just let me know if you do HTH Jenni ( & Gethyn) 17yrs, Mari 3yrs (H/B) Babi Bach: 37wks+ (Planning Home Water-Birth) " If you don't know your options - you don't have any "
Guest guest
Thanks Jenni for both your posts. Yes please do post to the homebirth and midwifery lists. I think her concern is about when I haemorrhage. I know it sounds a bit daft but I honestly cannot remember whether it was after the baby was born or after the placenta. I was only on gas & air but I really cannot remember delivering the placenta with either daughter. I think it must have been post-placenta but cannot be sure. My MW is going to get my notes from the hospital to check but I would like to have some info/statistics whatever to argue my case! TIA and for the help so far ...
