Guest guest
I am sorry I love this film and I wrote an opinion on it recently I will copy and paste some of it here....... I love this film and so does my son, Callum who is now 2 years 10 months old. We did have to wait until it came out on video and as soon as it was available to buy my husband bought it for him and just recently he has been watching as much as he can. I think he would watch it 5 times a day if I let him. Callum just sits there mesmerized to the screen. Its rather a strange film as it starts off with and his friends on the Island of Sodor, where you see , Gordon, etc. (Yes I do know all the names but that's another story!) and then it skips to a little village called Shining Time, which of course has a station and an old steam train which runs along this line. Shining Time is a very strange place where everyone is very nice to each other and the trains all run on time ( not set in this country or day and age then!! but yes it is) and to top it all off there is this little, no he is actually tiny, man called Mr. Conductor, played by Alec Baldwin. Now Mr. Conductor has to travel to Sodor to keep an eye on and his friends for the Fat Controller or Sir Topham Hat as he likes to be called. This is even more important because of a nasty Diesel train called Diesel 10, so Mr. Conductor travels to the Island of Sodor by the use of magic gold dust. Diesel 10 also has two followers by the names of Splatter and Dodge, but instead of using their full names Diesel 10 calls them Splodge. Now these three are nothing but troublemakers and try to do everything they can to scare poor and the other steam engines, but they are also looking for the lost engine, called Lady. Toby, the tram engine finds out what Diesel 10 is up to and tells and Mr. Conductor but by the time Mr. Conductor finds out, he has used his whole supply of magic gold dust! What will happen to the fate of and his friends. Meanwhile on a train heading for Shining Time their is a little girl who is making a trip to stay with her Grandfather, while her mother has a baby. The Grandfather also has connections with the lost engine and the Island of Sodor but I won't spoil it for you by telling you what they are! Mr. Conductor has to call on his surfing cousin, by shell phone (!!),to come to his aid and he brings with him the rest of the gold dust and the little girl to help out too! I had better not tell you anymore but I could tell you the whole story. I hope that you can tell that I have watched this film and enjoyed it immensely. I really would recommend this film to anyone with a little one who likes trains and of course ! My only problem with this film was the American style, I thought it would spoil it but after a while you actually forgot about it being American and just get totally lost in the amazing story. I also loved the songs during the film too and could probably sing all the words to most of them but I won't as I can't really sing all that well! Sorry if I have bored you all!!
