Guest guest
I think my score was a 67? When I was younger, I wanted to save the world, hence the major in social work. That perhaps is the error in the whole test and the error that people make when they assume that empathy is sympathy. It ain't. Sympathy is weaker and feebler and not worth a whole lot really. Empathy is truly understanding where someone is coming from, the good AND the bad, and being able to predict with some reliabilty and warmth and understanding what people want and need. You can be fairly cynical, i.e., have low expectations of your fellow man, based on experience, but still be quite empathetic. Surely the best counsellors would function that way?
