Guest guest
I am on my first round on chelation. DMSA only, 12.5mg, every 4 hours around the clock. This is day 2. I had my fillings out 2.5 weeks ago. I am underweight, and I really need to put on about 15 pounds. In fact, for the last almost two weeks, we have stuffed me silly with food, trying to get me to gain weight, and I haven't put on a pound despite consuming more than enough calories to gain at least one pound. I've been miserable and felt bloated and sick. We wanted to see me gain weight for fear I'd drop weight during chelation, because I did a lot of throwing up when I was exposed to mercury, and we were afraid that symptom might come back while on a round. Since yesterday when I started the round, my appetite and the amount of food I can hold has skyrocketed. I don't feel miserable and bloated after I eat, and I'm not throwing up. I actually feel almost normal. I have only had minimal side effects with the round that have been quite tolerable- some dizziness and a mild burning sensation at the base of my skull. I've been eating with every waking dose. I'm due to come off of the round Saturday at bedtime, so I'm worried about what might happen when I come off, but I'm enjoying feeling human while it lasts. Has anyone else had the same experience that they eat better and can gain weight on round? If this is what will happen for me, I'll definitely chelate 3 out of every 7 days. Could I possibly chelate for longer than 3 days at a time, if I do this well on it? I don't want to push too hard, too fast, and we haven't yet seen what's going to happen when I come off of a round.
