I am on 4 ltr oxygen and Symbicort. How do you deal with this coughing? I also have a poor appetite and when I do eat, it's a small portion. Guest guest
I just read your info. on loss of appetite. About 2 months ago I lost my appetite and didn't know why. Is this part of the disease of IPF? I have always woken up at 8:00 a.m. and went to the kitchen and fixed myself my regular breakfast of Hash Browns, 1 Egg and a slice of Ham. Now I wake up and have absolutely no appetite and by 2 or 3 p.m. I have to force myself to eat some toasts and about 8 p.m. I eat only half of my regular dinners. Again, is this part of IPF? Guest guest
loss of appetite may not be part of the disease -- a lot of people complain about eating too much Pink Joyce R (IPF 3/06) IFA 5/09 Pennsylvania Donate Life Listed 1/09 Inactive 4/09 www.transplantfund.org--- Subject: Re: CoughTo: Breathe-Support Date: Wednesday, September 2, 2009, 12:59 PM I just read your info. on loss of appetite. Guest guest
The cough is one of the nasty symptoms of this crazy disease. I think each of us has found our own way to help deal with it. For myself, I take Hycodan cough syrup (for cough and pain,) Teslon pearls,Zyrtec and Singulair to keep allergies at bay. I use albuterol in a nebulizer or puffer when I've coughed so much my lungs feel raw (it helps with inflamation.)I also keep plenty of sugar free cough drops close by. As for loss of appetite, every patient is different. There are many who experience loss of appetite, and there are many (like myself) who have strong appetites. 34 FL IPF dx 1/06 > > > > > >>From: tdip3kids <tdip3kids (AT) yahoo (DOT) com> > >>Subject: Cough > >>To: Breathe-Support@ yahoogroups. com > >>Date: Monday, August 31, 2009, 10:12 AM > >> > >> > >> > >>I was diagnosed with IPF in Dec 2006.
