I was hoping my test would show mercury issues so I'd have a quick answer for all the health problems I've had for the past few years. Nothing's ever easy, is it??!! > The next step would be to do a trial of chelation (see TKs general > recommendations in the files section). Side effects with chelation > would confirm toxicity. It is only safe to chelate when all amalgam > has been removed (and it looks like that is the case for you, check > to be sure). I've got to work on my adrenal & thyroid problems, then I'll try the chelation trial. Ate some chlorella by accident & the adrenals & thyroid crashed again, so I'm trying to manage that first... Can I use Thorne's Captomer (it's Succinic Acid from DMSA) instead of prescription DMSA? Thanks! Becky C-M
Guest guest
Becky, you can always try a trial of chelation---say 10 rounds and see how you do. You can get DMSA from www.vrp.com
Guest guest
Becky - 2 reds + 1 very close (Cr would be red at 0.70) 7 outside the yellow zone. 9 low. No counting rules met. Mercury is pretty low - not outrageously low, but pretty low. Tin is mildly elevated. This doesn't relly look like it, but it's not completely impossible. Na/Mg = 1. Borderline low. Your adrenaline might be a bit low. Consider Tyrosine, Phenylalanine (red meat, dairy) TMG (.5-2g early in day), folic acid (.4-1.2mg, 4x/d) & B12 (several mg/d); (These are methylation enhancers) Too much methl donors can cause anger, aggression and lack of motivation. Take care! B6. Here is the deal on B6: B6 does not agree with everyone. Adult: 100-250mg with meals and at bed-time (3-4x/day). If it works, worth experimenting with amounts. If not, don't jack it up. If > 500mg 4x/day can get tingling & numbness in hands & feet. If happens, stop and it will cease in a few days. Adjust for children, assuming avg adult weight 135lb. Na/K is fine. K/Ca is .03, borderline low (range is .03 to .35) Thyroid looks ... well, maybe something is going on. Since minerals are orderly, you can use them to draw some conclusions. Chromium is almost red high ==> Restrict intake & take a vanadium supplement (25mcg ?) Iodine is red high ==> Find exposure & eliminate, check thyroid. At this point, I would want to hear about symptoms, since that is the next place you look, if the hair test is not informative and if mercury might be a possibility.... Ah, I see you have included those in the pdf. Well, it certainly looks like you are a candidate. And the thyroid is borderline after supplementation - hm. Ok, yes. I think you should definitely consider a trial of chelation; but notice that you can't start ALA until 3 months after the removal of the last amalgam from the mouth or other mercury exposure. So, you could consider DMSA or DMPS. What kind of reaction are you having to vitamin C? If mercury is an issue, this is the first line of defense. You might check out ARG (allergy research group) for supplements when you find yourself reactive to most of them. Here are the standard supplements that you mgiht want to consider trying: B50 or B100 once or twice /d Buffered C, 4g/d or as much as you can take without causing loose stools. Mg, 100mg 4x/d and increase to 200 in a few weeks Mg Supps is done by taking 100-200mg (adult) with each meal and possibly at bedtime. The amount used is adjusted to the max level that is not laxative. Ca should also be given so the ratio of Ca to Mg intake from all sources (food & pills) is somewhere between 1:2 and 2:1. Vit E, 400-1000IU/d CoQ10, 75-200mg/d Zinc, 20mg + 1mg/lb Flax Oil, 10+g/d (1-2 tbsp) or CLO (1/2 - 1 tbsp) Borage oil, 1+g/d (1-2 tsp) Milk thistle, 1-2 cap/meal Folic acid, 400-800mcg/d Make sure any selenium is in some form like selenomethionine or selenium yeast. AIp. 162: 50-300mcg a day total. Try Lecithin, Choline & B12 to see how you respond. Dave. --------- Posted by: " Becky C-M " mochadoo@... kiwideee Fri Jun 13, 2008 8:05 pm (PDT) My Hair Elements Test results (#173) are posted at: http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/files/hairtest_173.pdf I think I MIGHT meet counting rule #3, but I'm not sure if I've got enough short bars in the white column (how short do they have to be?) Can anybody help me figure out if I meet any counting rules for mercury poisoning? I've got a LOT of the symptoms!! My tin result is high, which Andy's book says can be an artifact of a mineral transport problem, and my iodine is off the charts. My symptoms, health issues, etc. are all listed on the second page of the Hair Elements Test PDF. I appreciate any and all help anybody can give me on my meeting the counting rules, or other issues my test might show results for. Thanks!!
