Nah, you've never heard of it >Of course I have!! >We spent this year's 2 week summer holiday in a cottage >near Remiremont in the >Vosges - about 30 miles or so from Montbéliard Really? Well, that’s where we were There’s not a lot to see there - a nice place to live, but I wouldn’t want to visit. There’s a lovely old castle (built by the dukes of Wurtemburg, back when they had taken over all of that area of France) and the Peugeot museum in Sochaux, which is the next town over (and birthplace of Peugeot) if you have any car freaks in the family (who understand French, since there’s nothing in English). But this time, we just went to the park and went to see friends, etc. A week was much too short and we didn’t even get to see the great-aunts who live in a village nearby. But Calvin did learn to say ‘oo-la-la!’ which sends me into giggles each time. Oh, and some other French words, too. My MIL’s house was a disastrous mess as usual, but not as bad as I feared. The only injury was the last evening from MIL’s cat, who doesn’t like children (and barely tolerates adults), and was only a minor scratch on a finger. The flights were fine. Calvin slept the whole way there (a bit over an hour) and was leaping about the whole way back, then fell asleep as we landed. DH carried him all the way through passport control, etc, until we could get our pushchair back. I’m still catching up on digests. I’m up to Saturday on coffee and haven’t opened any of the others at all. And I need a nap.
