Guest guest
Hello, I'm looking for detailed information for a sample schedule so I know when to time my dosing of DMSA/ALA and supplements. Does something like this already exist? If so, where? If not, could someone share a typical dosing schedule. I guess what I want to set up for myself is a list of times, what I should take, and how much. In particular, I get that I have to take the chelation agents every 3 or 4 hours, but I don't know when to take the other supplements of Zn, Ca, Mg, Probiotic, Multivitamin, or Nystatin, cod liver oil, etc. Thanks, Janet
Guest guest
Janet. You just want to spread them out through the day as much as you can. It's really the same principle as spreading out the chelation dose. So, fat soluble vitamins like Vitamin A or fish oil, you could even take every couple of days and it wouldn't make any difference, but water soluble vitamins like Bs and C, you need to take as regularly as possible. So, my multivitamin comes in 6 caps / dose. I just take one with each DMSA dose, for example. My zinc comes in 50mg/dose and I take 2/day - so I just take one every 12 hours. My electrolytes (in which I include vitamin C), on the other hand, are mixed with water & juice, so I just drink that through the day. Some people use a lot of vitamins in powder form, so they mix them up, figure out how much is needed per day, divide by the number of chelation doses in the day, and give that much per dose. You see? You have some leeway here, because you wont' do damage if you don't give supplements uniformly through the day. On the other hand, it can make things a lot more comfortable. When I started, I just took a handful once a day. (It's difficult to explain how you can know that it's better to spread it out, but still not do it.) Guest guest
Yes, I see. It is more convenient to take altogether, but I worried about some interactions. It seems like if I give minerals then chelating agents, then they will pull the minerals, but if I give agents then minerals, then I won't; but maybe it all kind of mixes together in short time anyways. Thanks for your help. Janet > > Janet. You just want to spread them out through the day as much as you > can. It's really the same principle as spreading out the chelation > dose. I forgot to add that, even when I'm not doing a round, I still kind of stay to the every-3-hour schedule to some degree. It's just that instead of taking the DMSA/ALA I try to take vitamins, minerals or aminos I might need. My body clock is being set on the rounds and so it's helping me to encourage that off-round too -- keep that internal clock going. And since I sort of " wake-up " every 3 hours now on round and off, I figure I might as well use the same schedule to do something good for my overall condition. ~robin
Guest guest
Thanks for your post Dave. Pulling good minerals is the argument people use to try to convince us not to chelate. That's why I was concerned about timing of supplements. I appreciate your help and just hope I don't confuse others with some of my questions. Janet > > Ah, I see. No, that is not the case with the chelators we use.
