I'll tell you what that NAC is some nasty stuff. The smell alone could clear a

room of skunks! What do you mix yours with? I've been using grape juice.

NAC is available in pill form from health food stores and suppliers to

avoid the liquid rotten egg taste.

Thanks for the info, but my health insurance covers all but a $5 copay on my

medications, so I have a pretty sweet deal!

Sher's point wasn't just price. The non-prescription pills are not

covered by insurance but are available reasonably and without the taste

of the liquid. You can also get pills formulated by a compounding

pharmacy. Some insurance does and some insurance doesn't cover that.

Honestly most of us don't know about our home environment. When I lived

in an apartment, the city actually would check apartments of any who

chose during an annual program to check for certain problems such as

heating and cooling system leaks and other things within the air. I

honestly considered having an environmental company come and check for

everything including mold and air and lead and asbestos and who knows

what else, but never did really look into the availability and cost.

Jack's situation sure points out some of the risks though.

For people with the dust problems. Check out Dust Mites on Wikipedia. Their

droppings are strong allergins to some people. My wife for one. Everyone has

them to some degree.

We cahnge pillows a couple times per year and keep the dust that they live in to

a minimum.
