Guest guest
Merf Congratulations and good luck. For those not aware this is a Phase II study. This drug is also being studied for cancer tumors. For this study one must have FVC over 50%. It is starting with a small group and if there are no serious adverse issues, more persons will be added. One may get either the placebo or one of three different dosages. The drug will only be given for 48 weeks. However, the patients will be followed and tracked for 74 weeks to evaluate what happens when taken off the drug. Most of the studies we've seen here and talked about such as Pirfenidone, Revatio, and Tracleer have been phase III studies so Merf truly is getting in on a very early and new study. > > Hi Gang. I know I haven't been in the group very long but just wanted to let you know I have been accepted in a clinical trial. It is a phase 2 multinational doubleblind etc. etc, etc, of drug called CNTO888 administered intravenously to patients with IPF. It is sponsored by Centocor, which is & . The last screening process took 7hrs in hospital. 2 Psyc. evaualtions plus all the other tests we all take. Hate the PFT. Would like to stomp the h... out of that little laptop. Start next wed july 28. The length of the test is 72 weeks. First visit is about 6hrs. My wife is allowed to accompany me for most of what is going on. Glad she is there as I am sort of apprehensive, nervous, curious and she keeps reassuring me. Question they kept throwing at me was did I expect this to help me now. Told them I knew if they found something good it is probably too late for me but it can help others coming up behind me. Sorry for rambling guys but a lot going through my mind now. If you want will keep you updated with posts. Could almost make it like a journal. O YES WANT A BUNCH OF THOSE T-SHIRTS WHEN READY. > Merf 61 IPF 05 >
