I am also very disappointed at the moment. DH and I were completely convinced I was pregnant (had all the early signs too - nausea, sore boobs, keen sense of smell, no period for 7 weeks etc.) but then last night I got my period. My DH had convinced me that we should wait another week or so before doing a test, so I cannot be certain that I was pregnant - perhaps my symptoms were psychosomatic? I read that you have a 1/4 chance of misscarrying in the early stages too. I cant help but think that it is more common for women to loose babies than we might think, for reasons mentioned by othes. In my case I may have just dreamt up my pregnancy (because I suddenly realised I wanted to be pregnant) or maybe I was for a short time. Anyway, hugs from another very disappointed lady and good luck if you decide to keep trying. Perhaps you could talk through any medical concerns with your GP? Guest guest
Sympathies to you Kirsten and Liz. This happened to my sister last month too (doubly hard for her as she is desperate to be pregnant again at the same time as me) but I think Ruthie could be right when saying it is just nature's way of losing a non-viable foetus. Not much help really but hugs to you both. Francesca
Guest guest
> Sympathies to you Kirsten and Liz. Thanks everyone for your hugs, it is really helpful just to know that I am not completely alone in this experience, even though DH insists on making light of it (probably cos he's a bit upset too). i have decided that maybe it was for a reason like Ruthie suggested and that there will be other opportunities for my body to get it right! and maybe next time I won't realise I am pg until much later on! (I was 12 weeks pg with Josh before I knew!!) Thanks again Kirsten
Guest guest
Kirsten, How horrible for you, I hope you feel a bit brighter now. I think many people miscarry early on and never even know about it. They may just have a heavy period and think nothing of it. That is why people dont tend to test too early. I dont think you are any moe likely to miscarry than anyone else. Maybe next time, wait a few more weeks if you can, and try not to worry. also, a very high number of pregnancies fail, so its not you or your body that is failing, its just the way it is! Try again, it will be worth it in the end. Personally speaking, I spent the whole 9 months convinced I was going to miscarry (bad tummy pains all the way through) or have a still born baby , and thank god everything went ok. It is pointless telling you not to worry as you are bound to feel worried and upset if you want something so much! Make sure you talk to people if you feel unhappy, it helps, Mum to Rohan (7mths)
