I had toyed with buying 'Taking Charge of Your Fertility' before (for family planning) because I have heard so many people rave about it. I have just looked on Amazon and a new updated version is due out in November. Perhaps I will try and get it from the library until then. Thanks everyone for hugs etc. Liz

A friend of mine says " It should be given to every female at puberty " Phyllis (deciding if I should go no mail or leave it on digest as I am going away for a week to France. Guest guest
My heart goes out to everyone who wants to be pg but isn't. DS1 took 7 years, DD only 1 unwanted period and DS2 18 months. DD was the result of one amazing week! Both DS's were the result of unexpected opportunities when the mood just took us... I do wonder if the enthusiam was to do with hormones being just right. (not that we're not enthusiastic at other times!!!) No recipie for sucess here, but some ideas - reading a book on Natural Family Planning (also called the Billings or Ovulation method) can help you to find out more about when you are most fertile as this might help if your chances are reduced for other reasons. Might also just make you try harder to get it right and add to the stress and distress of the waiting. I found the waiting for DS2 much harder than I thought (with the logical me) it should be - too many echos of the wait for DS1 I suppose. I don't think that you can make yourself forget about it (tried so hard to do that too), but you can choose to take a break for a couple of months and use contraception so that you can greet your period as a sign of a healthy body rather than one that is letting you down and have some fun again with love making that isn't mission critical. Hugs to all who are waiting. Liz Goudie

Nah, you've never heard of it It's 10 miles north of Switzerland and 50-ish miles from Germany. It's where my DH grew up and we lived there for about 1 1/2 years before moving here. Only stressed about the state of my MIL's house :/ Phyllis
