Guest guest
Hi Sunshine!! What do you mean by feeling a 'bit strange'? Carrots are a high sugar high carb vegetable, and best avoided in those with candida and / or adrenal fatigue. It may be that your body has got used to very little sugar, and is now reacting to it as you reintroduce ... best to eat in small quantities, if at all, for now. Guest guest
What kind of problem do you have? " Strange " , meaning what? I know that carotenes are out for those with chemical sensitivity. Is that an issue for you? Dave. ------------------- Posted by: " sunshinep1969 " danielproudfoot2001@... Thu May 1, 2008 8:06 pm (PDT) No idea if this is on or off topic but why o why do I have a problem eating carrots? I have started feeling a bit strange after eating carrots, particularly eating lots of carrots, and a large carrot juice really does not agree either. What could that be? Is it the sugar, because i do generally have a problem with sugars? Sunshine
Guest guest
> > No idea if this is on or off topic Food allergies and intolerances (common with poisoning, and often need to be addressed during chelation) would fit in the category of " related health issues " and would therefore be on topic. but why o why do I have a problem > eating carrots? Oral allergy syndrome is quite common and explains why some people are sensitive to certain foods. Someone with oral allergy syndrome doesn't necessarily react to all foods listed, maybe just a few. http://www.calgaryallergy.ca/Articles/English/Adobe/ORAL%20ALLERGY%20SYNDROME.pd\ f If you feel strange when you eat other foods of the same family, that would be another clue. > Is it the sugar, because i do generally have a > problem with sugars? > If you don't have a problem with sugars, I doubt if it is the sugar. I do have a problem with sugar - carrot is one of the staple foods that I have been able to eat on the SCD, even when I was having the worst gut problems. (My experience, I'm not implying others wouldn't have problems with the sugar in carrots. My test results showed no Candida.). I defo have parasite issues. I defo have chemical sensitivities and emf issues. I defo have issues with all sugar and have been off fruit for 8-9 months now. Thanks for the link , only foods on that list that I eat are carrots, celery, potato, tomato, green pepper, almonds and sunflower seeds. as far as I am aware I'm fine for all except carrots….i will test those things and see what happens. " feeling a bit strange " = mild digestive issues, a feeling of " that didn't agree " . Large quantities of carrot leads to bloating and again feeling of off-color, tired and drained, but thats pretty common! I eat carrots most days as part of the healthy regime…so kinda important to figure this out!! About 2 months ago I saw Chinese acupuncture man, he prodded me about a bit said " ah saw….you jus eet choclate…ya? " " No, good sir " I said " I just ate a great big carrot, " and he said " ah saw….no good lah…you no eet collot no more, no good lah, ok? " Had some other tests last night and again carrots came up as a no-no for me. I have noticed this " feeling a bit strange " after eating carrots and have been actively reducing my carrot comsumption for the last 6 weeks, not even thinking about it, just avoiding carrots. Its strange because this is happening as other food intolerances are falling away, milk allergy is gone now, sulphur foods I can handle now, I don't get sick eating processed foods now, although I avoid them 99.99pct of the time. Strange how carrots do this, I wonder if they are part of some food group that I need to avoid? I am happy to find out they affect me, because now I can avoid them. It will help even more if I can figure out why I can't handle them……? Sunshine

Large quantities of carrot leads to bloating With those clues my guess is that it is the sugar in carrots that are making you feel a bit strange by feeding some of the organisms that you don't want to feed. I would avoid them and take as many probiotics as possible to try to get a better balance of flora. I'm doing another parasite cleanse now, so will take some after thats finished. > (not sure what defo means) -----------My spelling is atrocious and " defo " is short for " definitely " Sunshine
Guest guest
If your eating the baby carrots it could be a chlorine issue. Even the organic baby carrots have chlorine used in the processing to combat bacteria. Jen > > No idea if this is on or off topic but why o why do I have a problem > eating carrots?
