Blue Shirt Friday!

I am getting a few inquieries from people who haven't heard of the program you

have all eagerly supported, so please allow me to restate some of it again :)

If there is a Blue Shirt on someone tomorrow, it must be Friday and the person

wearing the Blue Shirt must be helping to raise awareness of Pulmonary Fibrosis!

Ask them! The idea is to start conversations:) They may not even be aware they

are wearing our " pink ribbon " so we all agree we are going to teach them!

Someone needs to...don't you think? It is scarey how little is known and how few

know about our disease. You are changing that:) You are empowered and

powerful...you may have Pulmonary Fibrosis, but it doesn't have you nor define

you. It doesn't have your spirit or your determination to make changes in this

disease right where you live:)

It won't be long before we all have our official Blue T-Shirts as a result of

our very own, patient driven, Grass Roots Campaign to raise awareness for the

disease we live with daily. We will work on a collared shirt for those who

cannot wear a T-Shirt to work soon!

Pulmonary Fibrosis Patients and those who love them are driving this Awareness

Program from coast to coast and across the ocean to the United Kingdom. Patients

are taking it on themselves to let those they come into contact with know about

their disease! It is a ripple effect....we tell one, who tells one, who tells

one...it will have amazing results that will assist all who work with and for

Pulmonary Fibrosis patients around the world. It won't be long before many

other people will start putting together the fact that a Blue Shirt on Friday

must mean they are supporting Pulmonary Fibrosis. Our goal is for it to become

our " pink ribbon " . The concept is that our lungs, when healthy, are nice and

pink, when hypoxic, oxygen starved, they turn blue, the reason behind the color

for the shirt.

The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Chicago and the Pulmonary Fibrosis

Association of Texas, Inc., both 501©(3)Nonprofits,are supporting and

co-sponsoring the development of the shirts. Any funds over and above the cost

of the shirts will go toward research efforts of the Foundation and meeting

oxygen needs of PF patients by the Association.

Till we have the final shirt drafted and ready to be ordered any Blue Shirt is

good!!

What color are you going to wear tomorrow!!
