Guest guest
, Yes, he could be detoxifying... or having bacterial " die-off " at this point, after only three weeks on SCD. Some kids have a difficult time eliminating these toxins. Yes, epsom salts baths can help with detoxing and make him more calm and comfortable. Patti seizures HI My son has almost 3 weeks with the SCD but the seizures have not stopped. I have been reading all the mails of the group and I want to know if some bodey can tell me if the seizures could be caused for the lack of skill of his body to excret all the toxines and he needs a " quelation " . Should I use the Epson Salt baths? are there other home made ways to help him to a quelation? thank you for your help..... __________________________________________________ Correo Yahoo! Guest guest
Dear , If it makes you feel a bit better you are not alone. We are 4+ months out, having a major set back with our daughter KiKi. She got sick with Rotavirus that has damaged her gut again. She had deleriums and sezures before we started SCDiet...about 1+ months into it they vanished....to come back now with this set back/or what is called a " regression " in the BTVC book. Everyone is individual...but it is my belief too that when the gut become damaged toxins can not be metabolized fast enough, and they build up. It is our hope that they vanish again...it is my hope for you that you have success too! We both need to hang in there...it isn't easy seeing our kids sick! Guest guest
Hi Cathy, I just want to agree with Kai's post. It is important to start one chelator at a time. It is also important to start at a low dose. The recommended starting dose is usually 1/8 mg/lb. Someone with problems such as seizures should start with even lower doses. like maybe 1/16 mg/lb. Stay at the dose for several rounds and only increase by small increments when the child is not having side effects at that dose. If you haven't already joined you may want to consider joining the autism mercury group. There are many helpful parents there. There would also be stories in archives of parents chelating children who had seizures. I remember one mother reporting that the child's seizures stopped when she removed gluten from the diet.
