Finding Mold in Your Environment

In the event that any of you have HP as an aspect of your PF and if your HP

involves mold, I will tell you a place we just discovered that was killing me.

After moving two years ago into our 12 year old desert home in St. , Utah,

we had inspected literally everything for hidden mold short of tearing out the

walls and ceiling.

We recently had a new furnace installed. It is grouped with the water heater and

water softner in the garage. When they had the furnace out, my husband noted

that the drain for the softner and water heater went into an opening in the

floor of the same enclosed area that received the cold air return.

In other words, the air returned to the furnace was sucking air from a drain

going directly into the concrete floor and dispersing it, through the ducts and

into our home.

He sealed around these pipes and put new Filtrete filters in and within 2 hours

I felt a remarkable improvement. Over the last two days it has been nothing

short of miraculous. I'm far from 100% but have never seen this kind of

improvement without a round of prednisone. Other places are toilet water tanks,

shower/tub drains, garbage disposal, refrigerator coils, potted plants and more.
