Hello all,

Since no one seems to know about pulmonary fibrosis.... .Jan from the Patient online group has come up with an idea to help raise awareness... .Blue Shirt Friday. What better way to raise awareness to get folks across the country all wearing their blue tshirts....this is a grass roots effort....but we have to start somewhere...

I don't know about you all but I'm tired of no one knowing about this disease. I just received a call from a reporter in CA who had never heard of the disease. We receive calls here at the Foundation all the time that a loved one was diagnosed and they had never heard of pulmonary fibrosis.

This has got to change.

Jan and I had been talking about doing this for a very long time....so something tells me the time is now. Go Blue!

We know that there are a lot of creative folks out there (yes, I'm talking to you Teri...) and wanted to open it up to all four online groups to help design the back of our blue t-shirt. The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation logo would be on the front.

The prize would be having your design being seen by the world!

Please send your ideas for the design to Jan @ jan3145 (AT) aol (DOT) com and @ ms_pulmonaryfibrosi s@....

Thank you. Stay tuned.....

If I could be so bold as to add my 2 cents worth here...

As a " retired " public relations and marketing communications professional, I

would like to suggest that for purposes of consistency of message, we select one

specific shade of blue for the T-shirts. In this way, that particular color

will hopefully become associated with our cause and everyone will instantly make

the association. We should also avoid light/sky blue as that color has been

" taken " by prostate cancer. I would also suggest that both the design and

slogan should be as simple as possible, while still conveying the message. That

way they will not only be easier to remember and recognize, but also cheaper to

print and reproduce.

As I said, just my 2 cents worth! The ideas are great and the response has been

amazing!
