This is from daughter Laurie in response to that Walmart letter. Don't

believe every negative article you read about Walmart..

Oh, dear I have to get on my soap box! LOL

Well, they pay 70% of my cost for health care premiums, I only pay $56.00 a

month with a $350.00 deductible. They put into my profit sharing and 401K

whether I put in anything or not.

I work in a distribution center so exercise is all we do!!!!

We hire all ages and are so busy and always expanding, that we rarely hire

part timers.

The few who are part time also have the advantage of getting coverage.

If there are any without health coverage it's because they choose not to

have it.

Education benefits are also part of the package regardless of any other

benefits, these education benefits are also for dependants of the wal-mart

associates, they also offer scholarships to associates and/or family

members.

Back to health care.....hiring younger....show me any insurance company that

would cover a " pre-existing condition " !!

Also, Wal-mart, in order to help the associates with the ever increasing

costs of health care increased it's

portion to the 70% payment, they also have regular meetings as how to avoid

paying more. Like right now, all my presciptions are free for the remainder

of the year.

Stingy on wages.....I don't call $10.55 an hour to start STINGY...we have a

progressive wage increase at Wal-mart...at 90 days, again at 90 more days

and then at 6 months, and again at 6 months, we also get an annual wage

increase in Feb.

I've been there 7 years now and there are people coming in off the street

that make just as much if not more than I and I'm management.... Let me

stop.... Thanks for the email, I just wish they could say something good for

a

change.

Love, Laurie

Didn't say it didn't exist.. But doesn't mean just because a memo was

written that it was actually acted upon, didn't it just discuss ways to

accomplish something?

Did it say that any of these ideas were actually put into use? I don't know

- I didn't read the article thoroughly myself. but seems that is was just a

memo expressing ways to cut costs, not that they were actually implemented.

Anyway you will find out as you work at Sam's

Oh one thing about what they said about cashiers doing more than just

cashiering.. Any place that I have ever worked the cashier has never don't

JUST cashiering. Believe me you did other stuff too even if you had to run

from one end of the store to the other. Jolene

So if its not true, how do they explain the memo...that btw has been shown

by

the press so it does exist.
