Guest guest
In Ayurveda vertical ridges on fingernails are considered a sign of mineral imbalance / deficiency. They also consider fingernails and hair to be closely related tissues. Interesting, no? I wonder if people with fingernail ridges also would have hair tests showing mineral transport issues or mineral deficiencies? By the way, I've had vertical ridges on my fingernails since I was a child. So I don't think chronological age is the only cause, or even a principal cause. > > i have them too. they started on my toenails, suddenly when i became > disabled. now also fingernails starting to have ridges too. > > fyi, this website below has gathered lots of info from different disciplines > on how normal fingernails grow. it seems general consensus that most > " vertical ridges are the result of the natural aging process, appearing > first in middle age and becoming more prominent with time. Guest guest
I have vertical ridges, gets worse every year. haven't been tested for deficiencies since 1980's.I would love to hear more reports on this. I think the mineral deficiency is a good bet. Deb
