Guest guest
WOW - What a discovery. I went to visit a school yesterday six miles away from here....there are only 30 pupils in the whole school.....ranging from aged 3 to 11 - imagine that? Now I am thinking WHY wasn't this the LEA's first choice for Liesel given her complexities, it's perfect for her....no, they would rather dump a few children on the spectrum in a massive mainstream school to get on with it and call it the resourced provision! They haven't got a clucking fue have they? It's perfect and the headmistress is very nice, quite naturally Liesel and Freyja are going to be in the same class by default, I had requested this happen cause there ain't no way Liesel will return without Freyja's being with her.....I think it's lovely that they want to be together. The headmistress was very open and honest with me, she has zero experience in autism and had never heard of Autism spectrum disorder until yesterday, imagine how sensory integration dysfunction and Hyperacusis went down? ROFL But she actually GOT what I was telling her, which makes the difference this is going to work because she won't be the heavy " I am, I know it all " . Anyway, she is happy for this to go ahead so long as we get it in writing from the LEA that they will put their money where their mouth is and provide full time support for Liesel and the school, otherwise it can't be done. I am taking the girls to see the place this morning.....those teachers are going to be hooked! SO proud of my babies ) Louisa
