Is it just trial and error? I was on Armour awhile ago but the doctor would only raise it a little because of my TSH score. Will the canary results indicate which I need? --------Hi Val. I will be looking into this too, because I just had some thyroid testing done, and my numbers are whacked! I sent them to , but haven't heard back from her yet. I know she likes doing the protocol with cycles of SRT3, but not sure if that will work for me, because I think my pituitary is really whacked/poisoned. Anyway, I think some people do well on Armour, and some seem to do better on T3 alone. It might depend on whether your body has trouble converting T4 into T3, then you might do better on T3 alone. I know really likes SRT3 (slow-release), but she takes it daily, not in cycles. I think Dean has some good thyroid info at his website, and Jay does have some stuff on the onibasu/wiki. Here's my current labs. They didn't test antibodies this time, but after these results, I think I'm going to ask for them. free T3 ---- 3.42 range 3.50 - 3.90 free T4 ---- 1.30 range .58 - 1.64 TSH ----- almost 0 range .34 - 5.60 My understanding is that if my pituitary was working right, that when it sensed my low T3, then it should be sending out TSH to tell my thyroid to make more thyroid hormone. Normally a low TSH would mean *hyper* thyroid or too much hormone, and that's certainly not me! So something is definitely whacked, and I'm not sure if it's because of the Hashi's (thyroid antibodies), or if my pituitary is that poisoned and not working right. I'll let you guys know what I find out. But this does answer some questions, because I haven't felt that great lately, even with adrenal support. So these hormones are definitely a balancing act.--------Jackie Thanks, Val

Always freezing, dry hair, thick coarse skin..etc. Over on the Natthyroid group, Val (not me!) said that pituitary problems are permanent and need alot of different hormone support. She also doesn't believe the mercury connection - thinks its been blown way out of proportion. Not sure why she feels that way although she does recognize that chelation is hard on the body. ?? Anyway, you and I have similar problems. So, what I'm wondering is will thyroid support be helpful if your pituitary is out of whack? And will chelation help the pituitary? I know someone here posted that they thought their pituitary was starting to work again after chelation. But in the meanwhile, how do you support yourself with a poisoned pituitary gland? I know Andy mentioned that pituitary problems were more serious - not sure how he recommended treating it. Val
Guest guest
Val I am not a hormonal expert but I used the temp Syndrome-WTS protocol which worked very well for me in raising my temps (this is how defines low thyroid) as well, i do not know how armour is viewed in terms of being a permament solution or if it becomes a permanent support treatment WTS is purported to reset your thyroid and basically helps guide your thyroid (i compare it to priming the pump) back into natural and permanent working order which i believe it has done for me the Process the wilson's temp syndrome protocol goes through (3 times of " capturing your temp " --ie increasing the T3 until your average body temp is 98.60 (staying at every incremntal dosage for 2 days; holding this level of dosage for two days and then droping the T3 dosage at increments of 7.50 mcgs) is designed to accomplish a permanent solution see www.wtsmed.com my understaning is that many experts on thyroid say blood and other such fluid tests are very unreliable. 's theory as explained to me by my doctor, says if your body temps are low, it is a sign your " furnace " , ie thyroid is not operating at a high enough level > > > I'm pretty sure I have thyroid problems but am not sure which I > need - Armour or T3?
