Guest guest
I am a new member to this board. Was diagnosed with colon cancer in February of 1999, at that point it was a large stage 3. Luckily I had a really first rate MD, and a super supportive family. Went through both chemo and radiation treatment, and also used some alternative therapies. After six weeks of the chemo and radiation, my MDs gave me a month off to allow my body to rest. The weekend before I was scheduled to return for a check-up, I started to bleed quite alot. Went to the ER and actually had surgery the day I was supposed to have my check-up. That was six years ago. At this point I feel pretty good except for some residual fatigue. No more cancer. One thing I can say is that a positive attitude goes a long way toward recovery. I had a brief moment early in my treatment where I got really down, but then I got angry at the disease, and told myself that I was not going to give up. I was going to fight with everything I had to destroy this ugly thing inside my body. I did just that.
