Guest guest
I'm glad everything looked good. It's so nice to hear a doctor say that you have an immaculate colon! I'd bet that someone who hasn't been effected by this disease would be worrying about my sanity... LOL. It's amazing how your viewpoint changes. Miracles happen! Guest guest
MA, Wonderful that your husband survived the test also!!!! Great news for him. Love,Ingrid > > > My husband just had is 1st follow-up colonscopy, and he did the Visicol tablets this time. Still a lot of drinking to be done, but it didn't taste bad. > > He says the same thing about apple juice (from last year's test). He ended up drinking water this time which worked out better for him. With the tablets, he was told he could eat chicken noodle soup the day before (with no vegetables in it) and mashed potatoes for supper the day before. But, he decided if he was going through it he didn't want to mess it up so he wouldn't eat anything. He had a 1:00 test (had to be there at 12:00), and they told him he didn't have to start with the mass dose of tablets till about 8:00 that morning. I questioned whether he would be ready to leave the bathroom by 11:30 and she said he might want to start it a little earlier. Well, he started at 5:00 in the morning and he was worried about leaving the bathroom at 11:30. He went 5 times after he bathed and was getting dressed. The nurse almost messed him up with the timing. He was very uneasy when we left the house. He did make it, and only had to go to the bathroom once when we got to the center. > > I am so glad you got a good report. He did too by the way. Had some areas in the stomach and esophogus biopsied, but they called it reactive gastropothy. He has acid reflux and has been taking Nexium for years. > > MA > > > > > > From: " Ingrid Lowe " <lowenco@h...> > > Date: 2005/11/28 Mon PM 03:50:20 EST > > To: colon_cancer_support > > Subject: My Colonoscopy > > > > >

Guest guest
Ingrid, Congratulations on your clean colon. You are right that the medical people should be able to come up with a better system for clensing. Len --------------------------------- Hi, I wanted to Thank ALL for your prayers and good wishess for my colonoscopy today. Well had it today and all is clean!!!!! I need to remind all again that the procedure is nothing!!!! It is very easy to endure!!!! Did not have any pain and never felt a thing!!!! The prep the day before (Sunday) was a pain. No solid food, only clear liquids for the day. Started prep about 2:30 and was still loving the bathroom at 10pm. Very sore bottom. I did the phoso-soda prep. Gagged down 1.5 oz mixed in a little juice. May never touch white grape juice again. LOL And followed with three glasses of water. Did it again at 5:30 and followed it with one glass water and then decided I would do the other two 8oz glasses with Sprite since it did say water or clear fluid. Sprite is clear right???? Very Very difficult to drink prep again knowing full well it was giving major squirts. Well it worked so good that I still had the squirts in the morning. LOL No drink or food after midnight. (sigh) Was thirsting to death by the time we went to the hospital for the procedure. . But survived the ordeal. Like everyone saids the prep is the worst. and even that is tolerable. All I can say and had repeated to my husband since he was there to listen that since I have been diaognosed with this CC I have had to swallow some of the vilest tasting crap. CT prep drinks and this colon cleansing prep. Yummy-Yummy!!!!! No normal healthy person would willingly drink this stuff. But look what we have to do!!!!! But the healthy wonderful results were all worth it and I am thrilled!!!! Guest guest
LOL! Narice I think it's totally a 'guy' thing. My husband, whom I consider to be a smart, intelligent, creative, thoughtful man is endlessly amused by the various sounds his body is capable of making! Also, to everyone dreading a colonoscopy -don't. Narice is right - the prep is a minor inconvenience and the proceedures is a breeze! > > Oh my boys and Phil have always been obsessed with bodily functions. Guest guest
The fun part is aggravating the ladies with the pre-adolescent behavior. :-) Cliff H. > > > > Oh my boys and Phil have always been obsessed with bodily functions.
