Guest guest
Hi Dean, When I first started using B5 for my adrenals I took 1,500 mg of B5, 3 times a day, along with 2,000mg each of B3 and and Vit C also 3 times a day. More recently I'm taking 500mg 3 times a day. The tablets are Calcium Pantothenate 555mg which provides 500mg of Pantethinic Acid and I use it because it is easily available. Pantethine is a natural form of Vitamin B5 that is regarded by some experts as the superior form because it possesses superior Cell Respiration qualities above Pantothenic Acid. Apparently Pantethine is available in USA as capsules or sublingual. PABA (Para Aminobenzoic Acid) can improve the utilization of Vitamin B5 and Vit C protects it from oxidation. CoQ10 is synergisitic with B5. The maximum total blood Vitamin B5 concentration occurs 2 - 4.5 hours after oral ingestion of Pantetheine or Calcium Pantothenate. It's half-life is approximately 2.5 hours, which is why more frequent dosing rather than twice a day would be better. Hi All,Part of DiagnosTech's recommendations for adrenal problems is Vit B5 - 500mg twice a day for 3 months. It is a co-factor in cortisol production. My question is which form of B5 is best? They say Pantothenic acid. There is also Calcium D-Pantothenate.Are there other forms? And which is best? Thanks,Dean _________________________________________________________________ Win a Nokia E51 with mobile Hotmail SMS alertsĀ http://www.livelife.ninemsn.com.au/compIntro.aspx?compId=4589

Thanks Gail, that is helpful. I wonder, do you know what other co-factors are essential in cortisol production? DiagnosTech advices these (minus the ACE which I think is essential if you can tolerate it) http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/healingnetwork/adrenal_restoration_plan.html Thanks, DeanSA
