I had to start at 6 mgs DMSA and this was probably pushing it

My symptoms were anxiety and head tightness, body aches and agitation

when the dose was a bit too high. I think I tried 8 mgs first,

couldn't handle it. I think some people have started below 6 mgs

My understanding is that you should cut dosage if bad symptoms occur

or shorten time between and therefore cut dosage even further if you

go from say 3.50 hrs to say 3 hrs dmsa

Other things that may help is vitamin C/magnesium with dosage

or as i have been rambling about, prescribed me

garapentin for the burning I was experiencing. Do Not know if this

combination might help

Also I think castor oil packs helped with congestion in liver

gallbladder and being on Adrenal suport (HC in particular)

Good luck

If you are reacting to the first dose, and your reaction is worse with

12.5 mg, maybe your body can't tolerate DMSA.

Is there any way that you can get a prescription for DMPS?

Have you tried ALA only chelation? If you do, be sure to start with

low doses.

There are other things to consider. I got insanity like symptoms with

low doses of DMSA and DMPS when I first started and it turned out that

I was having minor seizure activity that was aggravated by chelation.

Anti seizure medications helped. I also was low in sodium, and

probably potassium (not low enough to show up on blood tests), and

took alka seltzer gold to bring those up a bit and help with 'brain fog'.

As says, there are a few people who just can't tolerate DMSA. On

the other hand, it sounds like you have been using it for a while; and,

these are very typical mercury tox symptoms. Some adults have had to

use as low as 6mg. So, while I don't want to suggest that you do

anything to hurt yourself again, at the same time I'm curious whether

you would be able to tolerate it if you went down that low.

Notice, that the moments when a lot of mercury are moving around are at

the start and end of the round. So it's not a complete surprise that

you might get symptoms then; in which case, a lower dose should work.

As for getting them in the middle of the round, is it possible that you

are having trouble making even size doses? If there is unintentional

dose fluctuation, perhaps that's the problem? I mix my DMSA with

liquid, but I'm careful to shake really well, and I've been told on this

list that there are people who have trouble with this technique. Are

you doing it with the razor blade and paper method? Or are you mixing

with vitamin C and then dividing the dose?

Dave.

This is killing me. I keep having a reaction to the first pill and I

have to quit the round of chelation.

About 40 minutes after taking the first pill of DMSA, I get insanity

like symptoms, hyper feeling, agitation, even some hallucinations.

I'm taking 25 mg but that's only because I don't get very good results

from 12.5 mg (I think I actually feel worse at 12.5 mg).

I haven't been able to chelate without problems for months now. Some

rounds I take the pill early say at every 3:30 hours and it works but

the next round I'll have a reaction to that same dose timing. It's

following no patterns, I can't figure it out.

Now that I'm having a reaction to the first pill, I can't chelate at

all. I'm starting to think my liver health is incredibly missed up

and it might be causing this.
