Guest guest
Check the Wake Forest University Hospital for heated chemo for peritonial mets . They appear to have a lot of experience and a lot more credibility like an individual specialist like Sugarbaker (sp or something like that) in Baltimore. Guest guest
Hi Meri: I also have Stage IV colon cancer with mets to the liver, appendix, and lymphs. I had a colon resection and a liver resection. Did you dad have those? How many tumors does he have in the liver? Were they all removed? Any remaining? I don't know anything about the peritoneal cavity but I assume that is treatable with chemo and Avastin. What is cytoreductive and IPHC? I never heard of these. I am receiving 12 cycles (every other week for 6 months) of FOLFOX plus Avastin. Folfox is Oxaliplatin/Leucovorin and 5FU. This is standard first line chemo for my diagnosis. Where do you live? Where was the surgery done. Please give us more details on your dad and we will try our best to help. in California In a message dated 10/30/2005 2:18:37 PM Pacific Standard Time, drmeri2be@... writes: My Daddy was just diagnosed with stage IV cc. He is 2 1/2 weeks post- op. He has mets to his liver and peritoneal cavity. What would his best treatment option be? I am working on getting him in to see specialized surgeons in cytoreductive and IPHC to see if he is a candidate for that aggressive surgery/treatment. What options would we have with chemo? Has anyone else been diagnosed with mets to both the liver and peritoneal cavity? I am praying for a miracle, for him to be healed. I am also looking into CAM therapy. What supplements are best to treat colon cancer? Has anyone had a favorable outcome with supplements? We are willing to try anything... Thank you for any information that you may provide. My Daddy just turned 57 years old last week. You are all in my prayers. Meri
