Guest guest
I now have a new word to intensely dislike. It is "considering". I had my post-op appointment today. I haven't been doing well at all since the surgery so I was expecting bad news ie... something went wrong with the surgery, we have to open you ups again, whatever but that is not at all what I heard and maybe I should be thanking God for that but every thing he said to me included the words "considering". You are healing as well as can be expected "considering" you have Lupus. The intense pain should ease up in a couple of weeks "considering the amount of work we had to do in there. Your lungs don't sound that bad "considering" you have PF. He put me on two more weeks of bed rest. I swear I am going to go nuts. He also extended my semi-liquid diet "considering" my colon resection and bowel problems it's a good idea. "Considering" what a bad situation you were in coming out of surgery ( the Grand Mal seizures you are doing pretty well. I have lost 10 pounds in 11 days and that's Okay "considering" my other medical problems. He is well satisfied with my recovery thus far "considering" all of the major illness' that I suffer from. My stomach is not that distending "considering" my previous bowel problems. So I guess the bottom line is all things "considered" the surgery was a success and it's just going to take me longer to heal than the "normal patient. I am not complaining about the surgeon. He is the kindest, most caring doctor I have encountered and he listened to every question and tried to explain everything to me in a way I could understand but I was thinking I would be back on my feet by now instead it's two more weeks of bed rest and yogurt. I miss my Dr. Pepper. I don't even like red meat and I'm craving a double cheeseburger with the works. But I suppose I have a lot to be thankful for "considering" Sunny 51 PF '09, Lupus/Sjogrens/Arthritis/Asthma '04, GERD '04, Barrett's Disease '08, Hyperthyroid '08, CAN '09, Hiatal Hernia '09, Idaho
