Hi Dudley.

Here is a summary of the basic, basic supplements recommended by Andy

Cutler for the oral chelation protocol. You will need to obtain his book for

further details, and add other supplements specific to your unique needs.

You'l also need a hair test and we can help you interpret it. Chose Direct

Labs and ask for a Hair Elements test.

A good dosing timetable for DMSA is 7am - 11am - 3pm - 7pm - 11pm -3am -

7am etc.

DMSA must be dosed every four hours according to its half-life, while ALA is

every three hours. Start on 12.5mg DMSA. You can order it compounded here if

you like, http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/chelation (best for dose

consistenacy) or order it in 100mg capsules and divide on your own (more

cost effective).

Read TK's general suggestions in the files section, and/or follow this link

to learn more:

When you add ALA (three months after amalgam removal or other mercury

exposure), you will need to dose both DMSA and ALA every three hours (and

you can stretch to four hours at night only for extra sleep). Dosing every

three hours will induce a less clear-cut timetable each day due to the

variation between three and four hour dosing.

1) The OILS: Taken once per day

- Vit E, natural form (d-alpha tocopherol): Total per day 1200 - 1700IU per

dose. An absolute minimum amount could be 800IU.

- Omega 3 Oils: Take 1-2 tablespoons of Omega 3 oils per day. You can choose

Fish or Flax oil only, or used a combination of them e.g. two tablespoon of

fish only, or two tablespoon of flax, or one tablespoon of each.

Fish oils are preferred as the only option, as some can't convert the

essential fatty acids in the flax form. But taking two tablespoons of Fish

oils can be cost prohibitive, so it is helpful to split them. There is no

need to get Omega 3:6:9 mixes.

Fish Oil, pharmaceutical grade only

Flax Oil For each tablespoon of Flax you also need to take 1 teaspoon of

Borage oil. Adding Borage maintains the correct Omega 3:6 balance.

2) The AROUND-THE-CLOCK VITAMINS AND MINERALS- are taken with each

chelation dose as they don't interfere with sleep and are water soluble,

meaning they need regular dosing to keep blood levels stabile.

- Magnesium Aspartate or Citrate: Take 50-100mg with each chelation dose (=

350-700mg/day and much more can be taken if need be. Reduce dose if loose

stools occur )

- Zinc and Selenium : 50-100mg Zinc/day and 50-100mcg selenium/day

- Molybdenum Take about 500mcg/day

- Vit C (Ascorbic acid or use another form if this form is not well

tolerated): Can take about = 3500mg/day, and more can be taken. Reduce dose

if loose stools occur.

- Milk thistle - Total per day is about 400mg, divide the capsule into 8 and

take one dose with each chelation dose.

3) The DAY-TIME-ONLY SUPPLEMENTS, will interfere with sleep and should be

taken early in the day (e.g the first 3 chelation doses of each day)

- Vit B-50mg complex - divide the capsule into three and take with the first

doses of chelation of the day (most Vit B-50 brands are okay)

- ACE - take with with the first three doses of chelation of the day.

Dosage dependent on response.

Finally, make sure that you are on proper Adrenal support (e.g Adrenal

Cytotrophin, Hydrocortisone, Pregnenolone etc) and have investigated thyroid

support (T3, T4, Ashwaganda, Tyrosine etc) while you chelate. The adrenals

and thyroid WILL experience stress during chelation and NEED support.

http://www.livingnetwork.co.za/healingnetwork/adrenals_thyroid.html

That is a fairly decent summary to get going.
